Vivosa emerges within the natural park Parco Naturale Litorale di Ugento, immersed in the greenery of a marvellous pine forest just a stone's throw from the translucent sea. The Park protects a very valuable coastal sequence constituted by dunes and the area behind, a series of tidal basins and connecting channels, an imposing fossil cliff with ravines and the largest existing area in Salento of Mediterranean scrub. It stretches about three kilometres from the coast for a length of eight kilometres. This protected area contains one of the most interesting and precious areas of the Italian peninsula, for its landscape and naturalistic as well as historical value.
